Box Office – Tumbbad is on fire

Tumbbad is finding its audience. If the first day of the film was rather impressive at 1.65 crore, the second day has turned out to be even better with added numbers coming in. The film brought in 2.65 crores on Saturday and the growth is reminiscent to new releases which see this kind of Friday to Saturday jump when appreciation kicks in. The horror film is running at very select shows and it’s at these premium properties where footfalls have started gaining a momentum.

The film is now actually competing with Stree 2 and in its own little way even challenging it. Though that film is still the top performing one of the day, Tumbbad is not being seen as a pushover as its after four weeks that something worthwhile has come in which is giving audiences a choice to catch something different at theatres. The Sohum Shah led horror film was always being seen as a cult classic during last 4-5 years with the advent of OTT and now the big screen experience is further winning it appreciation. The total currently stands at 4.30 crores and the journey could well have just begun for the film.
