Housefull 3 has entered the 100 Crore Club. The film brought in 1.8 crore* more on Wednesday and with that, the collections now stand at 101.5 crore*. Director duo Sajid-Farhad is having the final laugh since the film was badly panned by majority of critics. However, audience didn’t mind what they saw and the word of mouth ensured that footfalls stayed consistent enough to allow the film a good run.

This is second film in 2016 to go past the 100 crore mark and incidentally, both of these are led by Akshay Kumar. That says a lot about the superstar who releases films at regular intervals and still manages to bring in audiences without fail. Of course, the long run of his films is eventually decided by the content that they have to offer but from the initial perspective, there is certain consistency that he is demonstrating.

For producers Sajid Nadiadwala and Eros, Housefull is turning out to be a fruitful franchise as the third installment has worked as well. It has to be seen though that what’s the kind of distance Housefull 3 eventually covers. Earlier, it had seemed that Udta Punjab would be pushed to 24th June. However, with High Court clearing the film, hence allowing it to release on 17th June itself, a large number of screens would go to Udta Punjab.

Nonetheless, Housefull 3 is a clean success and for Riteish Deshmukh and Abhishek Bachchan, it is a good enough reason to smile as they have scored yet again in a multi-starrer set up.

*Final numbers awaited

Note: All collections as per production and distribution sources
