“I am treating Manmarziyan as a new project” says director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari

After the immense critical appreciation that her debut film, Nil Battey Sannata received, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari now takes over the reins from Sameer Sharma for Manmarziyan , produced by Aanand L Rai.

While a few scenes have already been shot at a month long schedule in North India, Ashwiny who recently travelled to Punjab for the film’s recee ,plans to reshoot all the earlier portions.

She says , “I am treating this film as a new project. The recce is to understand the milieu in which the film is based, the lifestyle of the characters, how they talk, where they live, among other things. I do my own research and make notes before going on floors.I loved the script, Kanika (Dhillon) has written a beautiful story. I won’t be making any changes there but I will add my own perspective as a filmmaker”.

After a heart-warming mother-daughter social drama, Ashwiny is kicked about exploring the romcom genre for the first time and has already started initial workshops with leads Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar .
