Salman Khan’s Sultan continues to be super strong at the Box Office. If Day 1 (36.54 crore) was fantastic, Day 2 has been phenomenal too, what with the film bringing in 37.20 crore more. Yes, it was Eid yesterday but then it was only a partial holiday since in different parts of the country, workplaces, schools and offices have distributed holidays across Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. This translates into the fact that the Yash Raj film hasn’t quite benefitted from a national holiday that would have resulted in greater records on each of these days. That said, to actually have collections in the excess of 30 crore on two consecutive days and that too before the real weekend (Saturday, Sunday) arrives is a great trend indeed.

The film has now collected around 73.74 crore already, which means lifetime total of quite a few releases in 2016 have already been quashed. Moreover, it is now also a given that the film would hit the 100 crore mark today. This would make it one of the quickest march into the 100 crore club for any film and Salman Khan too would register his tenth century ever since he stepped into the club with Dabangg 2.

Ali Abbas Zafar has done well to decorate Sultan with the kind of content that is being liked by men, women and children alike, and that too across all age groups. The film is being appreciated by audience beyond quintessential Salman Khan fans and indications are all there that it is in for a long run. The biggest grosser for Yash Raj Films so far is Dhoom 3 [284 crore] and it has to be seen if Sultan manages to go past that milestone as well.

Note: All collections as per production and distribution sources
