Box Office – #Sarbjit is low on Monday, #X-Men Apocalypse too is just decent

Though there was improvement in collections for Sarbjit during the weekend, it all boiled down to how the film managed on the weekdays. After all, the start on Friday was low and hence the need of the hour was that the Omung Kumar directed film stays as close to that number as possible. This wasn’t the case though as the film collected 2.37 crore on Monday.
With this, the film now stands at 16.32 crore which should ideally have been the bare minimum weekend number for the Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer. Nonetheless, the film needs to now maintain collections at least at this level right through the remainder of the week so that it can step into Week Two with a decent number of shows.
The first target for the film is to go past the Week One collections of Aishwarya’s last release Jazbaa [21.58 crore].
X-Men Apocalypse was just a little better with 2.8 crore coming in. The Hollywood flick has collected 19.01 crore so far, which is just about fair. The film is only slightly better than Deadpool, which again was no great shakes at the Indian Box Office. That film had collected 22.52 crore in its first week and while that would be surpassed, one waits to see if its lifetime total of 35 crore is matched by X-Men Apocalypse.
