Rohit Dhawan had made an entertaining Desi Boyz a few years back. He reunites with John Abraham and brings on brother Varun Dhawan for Sajid Nadiadwala and Eros’ Dishoom.

The promo has just been released a few hours back. My initial reactions:

– The film is targeted at the youth with fun as an integral part of it. It has action but rest assured, comedy will drive the proceedings

– The casting is perfect. The senior-junior cop profile is well differentiated by John and Varun

– John is not entirely the brooding type here. He too has a lot of fun lines

– Varun is continuing to do well in picking up parts that suit his age

– Unlike his last release Dilwale where Varun was missing in the promo and was overshadowed by Shahrukh Khan due to lack of screen time, here he has an equal part to play with many scene stealing moments too

– Jacqueline Fernandez seems to be growing in confidence like never before. She comes across as a very reliable heroine material here

– Nargis Fakhri makes her presence felt in just a single shot

– Sajid Nadiadwala has yet again given very rich production values to the film. The outdoor sequences should look really rich on screen

– The film should be a good racy comic thriller

– Akshaye Khanna is a good surprise package and if his character is developed well, it could turn out to be a sone pe suhaaga moment for the film

– The film’s release timing is PERFECT. Virat Kohli is in the form of a lifetime and to have a namesake character (Viraj) as a pivotal character here (who gets kidnapped), the team of Dishoom can already begin to celebrate
